Group Concept boards
In lesson we got split up into 4 different groups to create a concept board based on a specific environment. The different environments include space, a walled city, forest and urban streets. In my group particular we had to create a concept board using images which are related to the space environment. This included pictures of planets, stations and included pictures with more of an industrial look.You can see the different group concept boards below.
Space Environment
In This concept board you can see easily that the color theme of the images are mostly Red and the images are more industrial than just planets. This basically means that in this concept board there are images which represent an industrial space such as space stations. This is because for the space environment it is based in a mining settlement which is exploiting the planet’s resources and developing renewable energy technologies for Earth. So I think images which include an industrial space station will be perfect to help inspire ideas for a mining settlement.
Enchanted Forest
In this concept board the group added images which will help generate images for a enchanted forest Environment. The enchanted forest is a forest which is mysterious but also has a Erie effect to it. To capture this effect the group has included images of a dark forest which has long, thin trees which are close together.
walled city
In this concept board the group has included images which capture the architecture in Rome itself. This environment is based on the Roman Empire so on the concept board there is images of the different statues, arches and different examples of the stone textures which will be helpful for the final design.
Urban Street
For this concept board the group had to collect images which are set in the Victorian era for instance in the concept board you can see images which show streets and houses from the Victorian age, the streets were usually small and narrow and the houses were small and compact. The concept board also includes images of lamppost and well known landmarks such as big Ben.
Personal concept board
In this section I am including my own personal concept board which is based around images on my own chosen environment. For instance, In the previous task we got given an environment to do a concept board for although in this task we personally get to choose which environment we want to do. I chose the enchanted forest environment simply because I am creating a 3D Forest environment so in this concept board I mainly focused on the collecting different images which I could use as an inspiration towards my 3D environment and for my final design.
As you can see below I have created a concept board which has a various of different images. In my concept board I mainly focused on how the trees are going to look for instance I picked pictures which are of a dense forest.
This means the trees crowd together. I have also included images which have inspired me to include different assets in my final design for example I have included pictures of a forest with a mountain background, Lakes, Path ways and bridges to help generate ideas on what could be in an enchanted forest. I also want to include 'Magic mushrooms' which are all twisted and have an interesting appearance to them. I have also chosen images to fit a dark Erie but magical theme for example in most of my images on my concept board they are quite dark and have a green glow in the sky which helps gives the environment an Erie effect.
